Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a hot kitchen environment
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to safety lift and carry up to 50 lbs, including hot and heavy dishware
- Ability to navigate kitchen areas safely, which can include frequent walking, bending, stretching, squatting, and twisting

- Prior cooking experience in a restaurant, senior living, healthcare, or hospitality setting preferred
- Strong understanding of food safety practices
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and specialized diets
- Ability to follow recipes and instruction
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Great communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable with strong time management and multitasking skills
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude towards residents and coworkers
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills
- Sound judgement and a strong ethical foundation in decision-making
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Prepare, cook, and present meals according to community recipes and following various dietary restrictions and requests
- Ensure high standards of taste, texture, temperature, and presentation of every dish
- Collaborate with the dining team to plan and execute daily menus, special events, and holiday meals
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist in receiving and inspecting food deliveries and managing inventory
- Build positive relationships with residents through excellent service and professionalism to enhance their dining experience
- Monitor inventory and assist in ordering supplies as necessary
- Contribute to a collaborative and respectful kitchen culture that values quality and consistency
