Job Requirements
- associates must be at least 16 years of age
- ability to stand and walk regularly
- ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- ability to reach with hands and arms
- ability to talk, hear, and smell
- occasionally able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
- regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- vision abilities including close vision, color and depth perception
- willingness to participate in required training
- ability to read and comprehend simple English instructions
- ability to perform basic arithmetic operations with American currency
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- ability to work in conditions that may include wet or humid environments, moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, extreme cold
- must complete company training programs
Job Qualifications
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- willingness to participate in and successfully complete required training
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence in English
- ability to write simple correspondence in English
- ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations in English
- ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and calculate discount percentages
- ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed instructions
- ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- completion of company training including new hire orientation, customer service network, safety, and technical skills for cashiering and floor monitoring
Job Duties
- take excellent care of customers by satisfying their needs and exceeding expectations
- accurately and efficiently operate the cash register
- provide various services at the customer service counter
- maintain security and control of cash register funds
- perform duties of floor monitor when assigned or when no one is on duty
- perform duties of cashier and bagger as appropriate
