Job Requirements

  • must be at least 16 years of age
  • willingness to participate in company training including new hire orientation, customer service network, safety, customer service clerk technical skills, and floor monitor technical skills
  • must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • ability to stand and walk regularly
  • able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • able to reach with hands and arms
  • able to talk or hear
  • able to smell
  • occasionally able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • regularly able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds
  • close vision and color and depth perception required
  • ability to work in occasional wet or humid conditions, exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, and extreme cold
  • ability to work in a moderate noise level environment

Job Qualifications

  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to participate in and complete required training successfully
  • ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
  • ability to write simple correspondence in English
  • ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations
  • basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, and discount calculations with American currency
  • ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions
  • ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Job Duties

  • take excellent care of customers by satisfying each customer's needs
  • exceed customer expectations and ensure every shopping visit is pleasant and satisfying
  • operate the cash register accurately and efficiently
  • provide various services at the customer service counter
  • maintain security and control of all funds in the cash register
  • perform duties of floor monitor when not assigned and may be the on-duty floor monitor
  • perform duties of cashier and bagger as appropriate
