Job Requirements

must be at least 16 years of age
willingness to participate in company training including new hire orientation, customer service network, safety, customer service clerk technical skills, and floor monitor technical skills
must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
ability to stand and walk regularly
able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
able to reach with hands and arms
able to talk or hear
able to smell
occasionally able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
regularly able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds
close vision and color and depth perception required
ability to work in occasional wet or humid conditions, exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, and extreme cold
ability to work in a moderate noise level environment

Job Qualifications

excellent communication and interpersonal skills
ability to participate in and complete required training successfully
ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
ability to write simple correspondence in English
ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations
basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, and discount calculations with American currency
ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions
ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Job Duties

take excellent care of customers by satisfying each customer's needs
exceed customer expectations and ensure every shopping visit is pleasant and satisfying
operate the cash register accurately and efficiently
provide various services at the customer service counter
maintain security and control of all funds in the cash register
perform duties of floor monitor when not assigned and may be the on-duty floor monitor
perform duties of cashier and bagger as appropriate
