Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency
- One year current work experience in custodial/maintenance related field, or an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience
- Valid driver's license
- Lift truck operator certification is desired
- Subject to Motor Vehicle Records Disclosure check

- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to frequently bend, kneel, reach, stand and walk
- Ability to constantly lift up to 10 lbs
- occasionally push and carry up to 70 lbs
- occasionally lift 25 to 90 lbs
- Capability to climb stairs or ladders
Job Duties
- Clean offices, classrooms, restrooms, kitchens, cafeteria, elevators, storerooms, lobbies, hallways, vestibules and other areas of the college facilities following established routines, standards and procedures
- Utilize hand tools, powered equipment, chemicals, and cleaning agents and technology to assist in carrying out job functions
- Clean designated area determined by Manager
- Set up and take down furnishings and equipment for functions/meetings per customer requests
- Maintain entrances and immediate exterior area for cleanliness and safety, removing waste, snow, ice, leaves, etc
- Respond immediately to safety or operational concerns (e.g. damage, alarms, graffiti, etc.) for resolution and report appropriately
- Dispose of waste, recyclables and other items following established governmental regulations and district policy
- Perform general building maintenance, such as light bulb replacements, ceiling tile replacements, minor repairs, installation of dispensers, hanging pictures, and signage
- Perform building security functions for the college including opening and securing buildings, labs, shops, and offices
- Test fire alarms in all buildings
- Maintain clean and organized custodial closets
- Respond to emergencies such as fire, flood, power outages, and severe/unexpected weather for clean-up
- Perform general maintenance of tools and equipment used to perform custodial duties following manufacturer recommendations
