Job Requirements

  • Must be available for at least 10 days per month
  • Must be authorized to live and work in the United States
  • Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and late evenings
  • Previous simulator instructor experience preferred
  • Must be willing to participate in CAE’s DOT drug and alcohol testing program
  • Current, unrestricted FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) License
  • PIC CRJ (CL-65) or B-737 type rating required
  • Meet minimum qualification and experience requirements for simulator instructor
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant air carrier experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to concentrate in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of FAR Parts 61, 91 and 121
  • PC computer skills
  • iPad skills
  • Fluency in English

Job Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) License
  • PIC CRJ (CL-65) or B-737 type rating required
  • Meet the relevant minimum qualifications and experience for simulator instructor qualification
  • At least 2 years of air carrier experience as PIC or SIC under part 121 or equivalent experience under parts 91 or 135
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Strong focus on quality, process improvement, and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to maintain strong customer orientation under adverse circumstances
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and accept change readily
  • Bachelor’s degree in job-related field or equivalent experience preferred but not required
  • Working knowledge of FAR Part 61, 91 and 121
  • Proficient PC skills with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Proficient with iPad applications such as Foreflight and Safari
  • Fluency in English

Job Duties

  • Conduct pre- and post-flight simulator briefings in a thorough and professional manner in accordance with CAE standards
  • Conduct simulator sessions following CAE, aircraft manufacturer, or customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Provide flight training aligned with the CAE 14 CFR142 Manual and/or customer training programs
  • Complete accurate and comprehensive crew training records to ensure pilot understanding and smooth handover
  • Recommend remedial training when pilots do not meet required training progress
  • Record simulator usage and discrepancies using appropriate procedures
  • Maintain instructor proficiency as required by regulations and company policies
  • Track instructional qualification validity to ensure continuous compliance and training delivery
  • Promote crew resource management (CRM) principles and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles
  • Monitor and assist with administrative programs in all areas of flight training
  • Act as subject matter expert in curriculum and courseware development when required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Training Manager
