Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous kitchen or food preparation experience desirable
  • Ability to follow recipe cards and production standards
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to handle heavy lifting up to 100 lbs
  • Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • Hotel experience preferred
  • Finger and hand dexterity to operate food machinery with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to grasp, lift, and carry goods weighing up to 100 lbs on a continuous schedule with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences including supervisors, coworkers, and the public

Job Duties

  • Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards per check from servers
  • Start food items prepared ahead of time without over preparing
  • Date all food containers and rotate as per standards ensuring proper temperature for perishables
  • Check pars for shift use and assist in keeping buffet stocked
  • Return unused food items to storage covering and dating perishables
  • Assist in planning and correcting food cost problems and controlling food waste
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment including deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat top grill
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
