Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Maine state driver’s license
- Minimum of 1 year institutional cooking experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work weekends and flexible hours
- Adherence to food safety standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of institutional cooking experience
- SERVE Safe certified is a plus
- Ability to work part-time or full-time hours
- Experience in food service within a shelter or recovery setting is preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare dinner meals for shelter clients
- Keep kitchen, dining area and food storage clean, organized and in good condition
- Follow all state and federal food safety regulations
- Control and log temperatures for all equipment
- Stay within established budget for the food service
- Establish a weekly menu
- Obtain necessary supplies for the kitchen, including weekly ordering
- Attend occasional program staff meetings and appropriate trainings
- Perform other duties as assigned
