Job Requirements

  • high school diploma, GED, or vocational training
  • minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
  • must be able to obtain a TABC License
  • basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
  • able to pass background check, driving history check, and drug testing in accordance with City policy

Job Duties

  • cook items ordered by each customer
  • work on several different orders simultaneously
  • measure ingredients required for specific food items being prepared
  • operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles
  • prepare specialty food following specific methods that require short preparation time
  • read food order slips or receive verbal instructions as to food required by patron and prepare and cook food accordingly
  • verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity
  • wash, cut and prepare foods designated for cooking
  • clean, stock and restock workstations and display cases
  • order and take delivery of supplies
