Job Requirements
- associates must be at least 18 years of age
- ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers including units of American money, volume, and weight measurement
- ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- completion of company training including new hire orientation, food sanitation, customer service network, safety, food safety, and product knowledge
- knowledge of cooking terminology, ingredients, and food safety practices
- ability to use a knife and various kitchen equipment
- ability to read and follow directions/kits
- ability to use all cooking methods
- ability to determine degree of doneness in cooked foods
- ability to use portion control tools
- ability to garnish food appropriately
- ability to perform physical demands including standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, lifting and moving up to 30 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- specific vision abilities including close vision, color, and depth perception
- willingness to work in a moderate environment and occasionally under hot, cool, and extreme cold conditions
- willingness to work around moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals
- ability to handle work hazards including hot surfaces, steam, wet floors, hot grease, heavy lifting, knives, sharp objects, and electrical shocks
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three months related experience and/or training
- culinary experience
- sales ability
- exceptional interpersonal skills
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions in English
- ability to write simple correspondence in English
- ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations
Job Duties
- take excellent care of our customers by satisfying each customer's needs and exceeding their expectations
- prepare, process, package, and stock products according to Fresh Foods standards
- provide customer service
- clean work areas
- unload stock
- reload salvage products according to Fresh Foods standards
