Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • At least one year of relevant cooking experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Prior experience in a cafeteria or large volume production kitchen preferred
  • Experience with safety procedures typical to food service environment

Job Duties

  • Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties and complete opening and closing checklists daily
  • Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Safely use a variety of kitchen utensils including knives and other items
  • Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
  • Consistently comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, recipes, policies, and procedures
  • Handle, store, label, and rotate products according to applicable state laws
  • Stock and maintain sufficient food products at line stations to assure smooth serving
  • Understand menu items and be responsible for prepping ingredients
  • Employ various cooking methods and manage both hot and cold work conditions
  • Multitask efficiently in a high-volume kitchen
  • Perform physical activities including lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
