Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant cooking experience preferably in a senior living or healthcare environment
  • ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification
  • Ability to work second shift hours from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm including weekends
  • Physical endurance to stand for extended periods and handle heavy kitchen items
  • Ability to adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary school or relevant certification preferred
  • ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification
  • Proven experience as a cook preferably in senior living or healthcare settings
  • Strong culinary skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques and cuisines
  • Ability to adapt to changing menus and dietary needs
  • Effective team player with good communication skills

Job Duties

  • Provide excellence in service to residents through meal preparation
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu development considering dietary needs
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations including HACCP
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment and ensure equipment functionality
  • Work as part of a cohesive team fostering communication and collaboration
