Job Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of cooking experience
  • ServSafe Manager Certification required
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to lift supplies
  • ability to maintain a safe work environment
  • must pass background check and reference verification
  • must be able to commute or relocate to San Diego, CA 92115

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of cooking experience, preferably in a facility or institutional setting
  • proven ability to work independently in a kitchen environment
  • ServSafe Manager Certification
  • strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations
  • experience working with underserved or vulnerable populations is a plus
  • high standards of cleanliness and professionalism
  • strong time management and organizational skills
  • budget management experience is preferred

Job Duties

  • Independently prepare and serve one complete daily meal
  • manage all aspects of food preparation, service, and cleanup
  • maintain a clean and organized kitchen space
  • track and manage inventory of pantry, refrigerated, and dry goods
  • ensure full compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • plan meals based on available ingredients, dietary needs, and client count
  • monitor food costs and stay within budget guidelines
