Job Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of cooking experience
- ServSafe Manager Certification required
- ability to stand for extended periods
- ability to lift supplies
- ability to maintain a safe work environment
- must pass background check and reference verification
- must be able to commute or relocate to San Diego, CA 92115
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of cooking experience, preferably in a facility or institutional setting
- proven ability to work independently in a kitchen environment
- ServSafe Manager Certification
- strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations
- experience working with underserved or vulnerable populations is a plus
- high standards of cleanliness and professionalism
- strong time management and organizational skills
- budget management experience is preferred
Job Duties
- Independently prepare and serve one complete daily meal
- manage all aspects of food preparation, service, and cleanup
- maintain a clean and organized kitchen space
- track and manage inventory of pantry, refrigerated, and dry goods
- ensure full compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- plan meals based on available ingredients, dietary needs, and client count
- monitor food costs and stay within budget guidelines
