ShelterCare is a well-established social services agency located in the Eugene/Springfield area, dedicated to providing comprehensive housing solutions and wraparound services to families and community members experiencing homelessness or on the brink of homelessness. Job Requirements

  • Must pass a DHS background check
  • Must be able to drive agency vehicles
  • Six months of experience cooking for large groups of people
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs while walking 120 feet
  • Ability to push and pull a cart up and down a long ramp with up to 150 lbs
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be available to work Friday Saturday and Sunday during specified hours

Job Qualifications

  • Six months of experience cooking for large groups of people
  • Ability to create meal plans and shopping lists
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to push and pull a cart with up to 150 lbs
  • Experience working in a team-oriented environment

Job Duties

  • Provide breakfast lunch and one meal to go for dinner on Friday Saturday and Sunday
  • Prepare meals to be served on the weekends
  • Create and maintain weekly meal plans
  • Create shopping lists for all necessary ingredients and supplies
  • Clean the kitchen after each meal when on duty
  • Maintain all hygiene standards for the kitchen and food pantry
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations
