Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years cooking experience preferably in high volume kitchens
- Valid Food Handlers certification
- Ability to stand and exert mobility for up to four hours
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs
- Ability to push and pull carts and equipment up to 250 lbs
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures ranging from -10°F to over 110°F
- Good communication skills
- Must maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance according to company standards
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Compliance with company safety and security policies
- Ability to communicate in the primary language used in the workplace
- Ability to work varying schedules as needed
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years cooking experience preferably in high volume kitchens
- Food Handlers certification
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Basic computational ability
- Experience using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods including grilling, baking, and boiling
- Excellent leadership and customer relations skills
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to handle pressure and multitask effectively
Job Duties
- Prepare food items for customers using a quality predetermined method in a timely and consistent manner
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment such as blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, and tenderizers
- Operate large-volume cooking equipment including grills, deep-fat fryers, and griddles
- Set up station with predetermined mise en place required to service all functions
- Adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, boilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles
- Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
- Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity
- Assist with guest inquiries
- Follow company safety and security policies and procedures
- Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
- Perform other reasonable job duties as assigned by supervisors
