Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred
  • Ability to work flexible part-time hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety
  • Ability to communicate clearly with team members and supervisors
  • Physical stamina to perform kitchen duties including standing for long periods and lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Willingness to comply with University of Notre Dame policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time up to 6 hours
  • Ability to move, lift and handle equipment, supplies and other objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to position self to move items weighing up to 25 pounds from floor to shelves and cabinets above and below counter height
  • Follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products

Job Duties

  • Prepare, cook, assemble, and present food safely, quickly, and efficiently
  • Be knowledgeable of the assignments for all kitchen stations, including fries, breading, assembling, boards, and food prep
  • Stock kitchen inventory as needed
  • Keep the kitchen neat, clean and orderly at all times
  • Work safely around kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues
