  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate Airplane Single-Engine Land, Instrument Airplane
  • Current Certified Flight Instructor - Airplane Single-Engine Land
  • Hold a current FAA First, Second, or Third class Medical
  • Must use company vehicle for business travel, must pass MVR and be insurable under Aims insurance
  • Must pass pre-employment post-offer urine analysis

  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate Airplane Single-Engine Land, Instrument Airplane
  • Current Certified Flight Instructor - Airplane Single-Engine Land
  • Hold a current FAA First, Second, or Third class Medical
  • Ability to use company vehicle for business travel, successful MVR required
  • Ability to pass pre-employment post-offer urine analysis
  • Flight Instructor Certificate with airplane single-engine land and instrument airplane preferred

Job Duties

  • Audit student records to ensure that all minimum flight times have been met including total time, solo time, cross-country, and night flight time
  • Maintain currency and proficiency as required by the FAA
  • Ensure compliance and records in accordance with FAA parts 61, 141, and advisory circulars including student records and endorsements
  • Perform Certified Flight Instructor responsibilities and duties
  • Provide one-on-one flight instruction to students in aircraft and flight training devices according to FAA regulations, approved syllabi, and the Aims Flight Operations Manual
  • Provide preflight briefings and post-flight debriefings
  • Supervise students' pre-flight aircraft inspection and make airworthiness decisions
  • Determine readiness and authorize student solo flights and supervise all levels of training
  • Evaluate and document student flight skills, judgement, knowledge, and assign lesson grades
  • Keep supervisor advised of student progress
  • Ensure all training and flight activities comply with Federal Aviation Regulations and are conducted safely
  • Maintain proficiency and currency as required by the FAA
  • Serve as a mentor to students and new instructors
  • Assist with instructor interviews, training, quality, and oversight
  • Participate in special event days
  • Attend department meetings, FAA inspections, FAA Safety Team meetings
