Job Requirements
- At least 16 years of age
- Able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily
- No prior experience necessary
- Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules and operating instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively and respond to verbal instructions
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percent calculation
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions
- Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds with assistance
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Flexibility to work weekends and variable schedules
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy manuals
- Effective verbal communication skills with customers and associates
- Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculation of rates, ratios, and percents
- Ability to follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
- Problem-solving skills involving standardized situations
- Familiarity with retail technology systems and cash registers

Job Duties
- Operates cash register by scanning merchandise, engaging in suggestive selling, processing transactions, and thanking customers
- Processes refunds and issues store merchandise credit for returns
- Uses loss prevention techniques to minimize shortages and prevent shoplifting
- Follows company policies and procedures for transactions and promotes Ace Rewards membership
- Maintains familiarity with ads, rebates, pricing, and reports pricing errors
- Greets customers, answers merchandise questions, and assists with locating products and processing special orders
- Displays, stocks, and maintains merchandise according to planograms
- Assists customers with paint color matching and mixing
- Collects carts and helps carry merchandise to customer vehicles
- Provides recommendations and services such as key cutting, glass cutting, screen repair, and knife sharpening
- Follows nightly maintenance checklist for store cleanliness and recovery
- Refers customer complaints to appropriate management
- Communicates professionally with customers and team members
- Uses computer systems including Epicor for daily operations
