Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 1-3 months of cashiering experience
- strong oral and written communication skills
- ability to perform basic math including rate, ratio, and percent
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- ability to write simple correspondence
- ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- strong communication, organization, and problem solving skills
- strong initiative and vision for continuous improvement
- ability to adapt to a changing work environment
- ability to work assigned schedules including varied hours, evenings, weekends and holidays
- meeting Scheels dress and grooming expectations
Job Duties
- Greet all customers when entering and exiting the store
- promote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and be able to clearly explain all benefits
- accurately balance cash drawer at the end of the day
- maintain a clean working environment and personal work space
- engage in conversation with the customer to add a personal touch to each and every transaction
- end each transaction by saying thank you to every customer
- maintain a professional appearance on the sales floor
- contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth
- assist in all other duties as assigned
