Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED equivalent or current student
- college preferred or vocational training
- previous retail experience
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally
- ability to stand for extended periods
- ability to bend, twist, push, pull, stoop, and kneel
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- motivation to learn and improve
- a positive and supportive attitude
- ability to work as scheduled based on availability
Job Qualifications
- experience in retail cashier, sales, customer service, or back office roles
- knowledge of retail computer systems and electronic cash registers
- proficiency with Point of Sale (POS) systems
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- typing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- capability to work effectively as part of a team
- excellent organizational ability and attention to detail
- willingness to learn and improve continuously
- commitment to customer service and satisfaction
Job Duties
- Cashiering and processing payments accurately
- assisting customers with loading their purchases
- responding to customer inquiries and resolving complaints
- promoting the True Value Rewards loyalty program
- answering and directing phone calls professionally
- maintaining awareness of current promotions and advertisements
- keeping the POS area clean, stocked, and organized
- using internal radio systems for communication
- managing impulse and Dexter assigned areas by restocking and inventorying
- detecting and reporting shoplifting activities
- creating and posting signs using EZ-Ad TV
- completing daily cleaning checklists
- performing administrative tasks as assigned by management or owners
