Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency degree
- 1-2 years grocery retail experience preferred
- ability to maintain high level of customer service
- ability to work varied hours and days
- ability to adapt to changing work environment
- strong attention to detail
- good communication skills
- ability to support team goals
- basic math skills
- ability to operate POS
- ability to stand continuously and walk for extended periods
- physical capability to occasionally bend, crouch, kneel, and reach
- be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency degree
- preferred 1-2 years grocery retail experience in Front End department processes and procedures
- previous experience in natural foods industry is a plus
- ability to adapt to high volume retail environment
- strong customer service skills
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- ability to multitask and prioritize
- basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures
- ability to use a Point of Sale System (POS)
- interpersonal skills for team collaboration
Job Duties
- Walk the store prior to each shift to ensure awareness of promotional and sale items
- do produce walk and weekly testing
- compute bill, itemized lists, and tickets showing amount due
- receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, gift cards, or automatic debits
- issue receipts, refunds, credits, rain checks or change due to customers
- operate cash register by passing price coded items across electronic scanner to record price, enter in PLU or UPC manually, compile printed list, and display cost of customer purchase, tax, and rebates on monitor screen
- greet customers entering store and respond promptly to customer needs
- maintain clean and orderly checkout areas
- issue coupons and rain checks
- adhere to all procedural guidelines set by the Front End Department
- assist customers as needed
