Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in food and beverage service preferred
- current Food Handler Card
- knowledge of liquor laws
- ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- strong customer service skills
- basic math and English skills
- ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of state, federal and corporate liquor regulations
- current Food Handler Card
- basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service
- basic mathematical skills for cash handling
- basic English writing skills
- manual dexterity for garnish and beverage preparation
- basic English communication skills
- ability to comprehend written product labeling instructions
- ability to remember and promote menu items
- ability to operate beverage equipment
Job Duties
- Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner
- promotes and documents orders for drinks
- mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control
- maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily including stocking of beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments and produce
- maintains stock, cuts, and stores all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily
- receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, records charges, ensures vouchers are properly executed, and balances all moneys
- locks up and stores all beverages, food and equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank
- answers bar phone promptly and courteously takes room service orders
- inputs orders into a register and creates checks for guests
- performs general cleaning tasks as assigned
- adheres to company policies and procedures
- follows safety and security procedures and rules
- knows fire prevention and emergency procedures
- utilizes protective equipment
- reports unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to supervisor
- maintains a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
- performs any related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
- assists other beverage personnel when needed
