Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- general knowledge of knife skills preferred but not required
- food handler certificate from the County of San Diego preferred
- must be able to read, write and understand English
- basic math skills with ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, divide
- ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- ability to apply common-sense understanding to instructions
- ability to identify and report deficiencies on invoices or product transfers
- ability to use a variety of equipment and utensils
- ability to stand for prolonged hours
- ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED

- must be able to read, write and understand English
- basic math skills including the ability to count in ascending and descending order, add, subtract, multiply, divide, and comprehend conversion charts
- ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out general written or oral instruction
- ability to identify and report any deficiencies on invoices or product transfers to supervisor
- ability to identify and utilize leftover products to maximize product value
- ability to use a variety of equipment and utensils
Job Duties
- Prepares food products as assigned by production records
- cuts and prepares fruit and vegetables in accordance with the specifications of the recipe and par lists
- follows approved recipes and standards for consistency and accuracy of products
- maintains the cleanliness of the workstation at all times
- follows all sanitation guidelines ensuring fresh, wholesome products
- operates and maintains kitchen equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- accepts deliveries and stores raw food products according to established standards
- assists in the cleaning of equipment, tools, or pans
- must comply with and ensure continued, consistent compliance with all company policies, and federal, state, and local laws/regulations including but not limited to: employment, safety, and health
- other duties as assigned
