Job Qualifications

  • ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as required by law
  • 1 year of experience processing and filing merchandise receiving paperwork
  • 1 year of experience with store inventory receiving and administration
  • 6 months of experience in warehouse data entry or bookkeeping
  • 6 months of experience communicating with vendors or customers regarding returns, payments, or contract fulfillment
  • 6 months of retail experience accepting or processing returns

Job Duties

  • provides smart customer service through daily execution of customer service policies and programs
  • seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
  • listens and responds knowledgeably to customer and employee questions
  • demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers
  • communicates stock, special order, feature benefits, application, and warranty information
  • manages customer returns and replacement product selection
  • works with production office to process labor, product, and vendor/manufacturer reimbursements
  • maintains positive vendor relationships and manages difficult conversations
  • completes centralized return to vendor program including packaging, shipment creation, and inventory transfers
  • processes return to manufacturer program with paperwork and vendor contact
  • handles damaged, discontinued, defective, special order, and buy-back merchandise returns
  • returns refunded merchandise to sales floor
  • generates and monitors inventory reports
  • follows up on store inventory and return reports
  • orders missing product parts necessary for assembly
  • coordinates with drivers and receiving team for merchandise accessibility
  • assists in unloading trucks and moving pallet jacks
  • validates items carried in and out of store when appropriate
  • manages hazardous materials in compliance with safety standards
  • participates in recycling and safety training
  • ensures store security and proper operation of equipment
  • detects signs of theft and communicates to management
  • maintains cleanliness, organization, and safety in the store
  • adheres to safety requirements for job duties
  • operates store equipment related to specific role
  • performs other duties as assigned
