Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of supervisory experience in food service
- obtain ServSafe Manager certification within 180 days of hire
- understanding of institutional food preparation equipment
- adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards
- ability to understand and follow instructions
- strong communication skills
- ability to work indoors in a commercial kitchen environment
- able to move supplies weighing 20 to 50 pounds
- willingness to handle food products including allergens
Job Qualifications
- General knowledge at the high school level
- one year of food service supervisory experience
- ServSafe Manager certification within 180 days from date of hire
- knowledge of institutional food preparation equipment operation and maintenance
- knowledge and practice of department standards for hygiene, health, safety, and uniform wear
- knowledge of employee handbook standards
- ability to read and interpret recipes, worksheets, and menus
- strong communication skills
Job Duties
- Schedule and supervise employees
- oversee preparation and service of meals
- participate in purchasing and production activities
- manage menus and orders
- direct store attendants
- oversee receiving process
- assist with budget preparation and monitoring
- control inventory
- prepare and analyze financial reports
- coordinate guest service and special events
- rotate promotions and assist with brand management
- represent dining management team in absence of general manager or assistant managers
- perform people leadership tasks
- manage floor operations
- work alongside frontline staff during high-volume service
- hire and schedule staff
- assist in corrective action processes
