Job Requirements

  • hs diploma, GED or equivalent
  • must be at least 18 years of age
  • valid driver's license
  • ability to lift up to 70 pounds
  • ability to perform physical tasks in variable weather and environmental conditions
  • ability to stand and walk throughout shift
  • willingness to wear uniform and maintain personal grooming
  • ability to judge distance
  • willingness to comply with collective bargaining agreement and union membership

Job Duties

  • load and unload aircraft cargo weighing up to 70 lbs
  • drive vehicles weighing 3,000 to 80,000 lbs in congested airport areas
  • assist in aircraft push-out using hand signals and voice commands
  • transport cargo using depth perception to navigate congested areas
  • communicate effectively with team members and passengers
  • work in high-noise environments
  • handle baggage by pulling, pushing, and lifting onto conveyors
  • connect water hoses and electric cables to aircraft
  • de-ice aircraft lifting and spraying glycol on wings and fuselage
  • make reservations, issue tickets and itineraries, compute fares, and issue refunds
  • check baggage and collect excess charges
  • provide travel information and assist passengers at gates and boarding areas
  • check validity of passenger tickets and complete flight close-out procedures
  • perform lost and found activities
