Job Requirements

  • High school degree
  • Some college preferred
  • Computer literacy with MS Office proficiency preferred
  • Library or bookstore experience preferred
  • Ability to stand, walk, crouch, stoop, squat, twist, climb, push/pull up to 50 pounds and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Availability for evening and weekend shifts
  • Good cash handling skills
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Positive and optimistic attitude

Job Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Some college coursework preferred
  • Previous experience in a library or bookstore setting preferred
  • Proficiency with computer technology including Microsoft Office
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and think quickly under pressure
  • Commitment to customer service excellence and teamwork

Job Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and ensure a positive first impression
  • Assist patrons in locating books, using self-checkout stations, and navigating the library
  • Maintain cleanliness and attractive displays throughout the library
  • Engage customers in conversations about current promotions, events, and services
  • Operate and train patrons on copy center and technology use
  • Manage cash transactions and reconcile cash balances accurately
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures of the library
  • Support library programs and promotional activities when needed
  • Answer phones, coordinate meeting room reservations, and respond to customer inquiries
