Job Requirements
- High school degree
- ability to stand, walk, crouch, stoop, squat, twist, climb
- physical capacity to push or pull up to 50 pounds and lift up to 25 pounds
- availability to work evening and weekend shifts
- reliable and punctual
- basic computer literacy
- strong customer service skills
- willingness to learn and grow professionally
Job Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent
- some college preferred
- prior experience in a library or bookstore preferred
- proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office preferred
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to manage cash transactions accurately
- team player with strong problem-solving abilities
- passion for customer service and community engagement
Job Duties
- Welcome customers warmly and ensure a positive experience
- assist customers in finding books and using self-checkout services
- maintain cleanliness and attractive displays in the library
- engage customers in conversation about promotions, programs, and services
- operate opening and closing procedures for the library
- oversee experience zones including technology and interactive components
- register patrons for library cards and assist with fees and requests
- provide basic computer assistance including email and Microsoft Office support
- manage cash counts and reconcile balances
- support library programs and promotions
- participate in district committees and share ideas
- answer phones and reserve meeting rooms
- identify collection needs based on customer feedback
