Job Requirements

Job Duties
- Clean guest rooms and other assigned areas
- operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner, waxer and polisher
- empty wastebaskets, dust, wax and polish room furniture
- wash walls, partitions, air vents, disinfect and deodorize toilet bowls and lavatories
- wash and replace window treatments and clean ceiling fixtures
- change light bulbs and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds
- move furniture to clean under and behind
- use step stool to clean windows, cabinet tops, mirrors and picture frames
- clean bathroom areas including tub, tile walls, commode, floors and vanity
- clean kitchen area including stoves, ovens, microwave, refrigerator, cabinets and floor
- wash and disinfect dishes, utensils and cookware
- clean iron and ironing board and replace cover as necessary
- clean and ensure proper functionality of luggage racks and ensure proper number of male and female hangers are available in closets
- ensure TVs are clean and programmed to proper channel and volume
- ensure alarm clocks are properly programmed with back up battery and in-room phones are clean, properly programmed and in working condition
- place proper number of amenities in room including consumables and non-consumables
- remove and replace bed linen, inspect mattresses and pull-out sofas
- move and reposition beds upon guest checkout, weekly or at guest's request
- greet and welcome guests maintaining outstanding guest relations
- ensure privacy and security of guests at all times
- clean, vacuum and mop corridors, stairways, guest laundry, patios and balconies
- shampoo rugs, carpets and polish rails of stairways
- complete scheduled carpet cleaning using heavy industrial carpet cleaners and equipment
- perform deep cleaning per program standards on schedule and upon guest checkout especially in pet-friendly and ADA service animal rooms including defrosting refrigerator, cleaning windows inside and out, carpet cleaning, shampoo and spot treatment, and cleaning walls
- maintain cleanliness and order of storage rooms
- communicate status of cleaned rooms and other spaces to supervisor via daily assignments or property management system
- accomplish minor repairs and maintenance of equipment and report major repair needs
- clean and inspect exterior spaces like parking lots and outside passageways
- load and unload trucks and vans
- assist with receipt, assembly, separation, storage and delivery of supplies
- use hand tools such as hammers, pliers, box cutters, crowbar, and shears
- manage pass key and other assigned keys and return keys at shift end
- report irregularities such as no luggage in stay-over room, no service needed room status, extra guests, unauthorized pets, and other unusual circumstances
- report lost and found items immediately with location
- set up and breakdown the complimentary self-service breakfast bar
- assist with preparing, heating, displaying, and replenishing breakfast items
- ensure cleanliness after breakfast hours
- obtain necessary food handling certifications
- complete all required safety and security training
- maintain a clean and safe environment applying knowledge of blood-borne pathogens safety
- follow NEXCOM Hospitality Group protocols during service
- perform laundry operations
- possibly travel between facilities with valid driver’s license
- obtain NHG housekeeping certification within six months
- perform other related duties as assigned
