Job Requirements

  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate
  • Minimum 10 years experience as subject matter expert in Part 135 operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Business, or related field preferred
  • Experience with Part 145 FAA repair station regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with STC certification processes and FAA Field Approval process
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25 percent of the time
  • Ability to work full-time on-site, Monday through Friday, with additional on-call duties
  • Ability to manage multiple maintenance programs and personnel
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Part 135 operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Business, or related field preferred
  • Experience with Part 145 FAA repair station structure and regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with STC certification processes and FAA Field Approval process
  • Extensive knowledge of 14 CFR Part 135 operations and regulatory requirements
  • Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance, airworthiness standards, and quality assurance
  • Working knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 43, 91, 119, and 145
  • Experience with FAA correspondence, Operations Specifications, and certification processes
  • Proven ability to develop and implement maintenance policies and safety protocols
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong decision-making abilities
  • Skilled in planning and forecasting maintenance schedules and resource allocation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, SharePoint, and electronic document management systems
  • Ability to interpret technical data, manufacturer manuals, and service bulletins
  • Knowledge of fuel quality control, MEL management, and conformity inspection
  • Ability to lead audits and support continuous improvement initiatives

Job Duties

  • Maintain a close liaison with the Chief Operating Officer to provide current status of aircraft and forecast downtime
  • Ensure company aircraft are maintained in accordance with Airworthiness Standards, Regulations, Airworthiness Directives, and Company Policy
  • Evaluate the effect of Federal Aviation Regulations and other mandates on current and future operations
  • Exercise operational control of all aircraft listed in Operations Specifications D085
  • Oversee the management of aircraft maintenance activities including overhaul, modifications, maintenance, and repair of airframe, rotors, propellers, engines, and appliances
  • Ensure maintenance procedures are evaluated for line maintenance personnel impact and effectiveness
  • Maintain, complete, and forward 14 CFR 135.417 Mechanical Interruption Summary Reports to the FAA
  • Manage 14 CFR 135.415 Service Difficulty Reports and ensure timely submission to the FAA
  • Establish maintenance policies, procedures, and standards
  • Ensure fuel quality control policies and revise the Fuel Quality Control Manual as required
  • Liaison with the Certificate-Holding District Office Management Team
  • Ensure maintenance personnel are properly qualified and trained
  • Manage the Minimum Equipment List Management Program and ensure timely repair of deferred items
  • Review and approve changes to Approved Aircraft Inspection Programs, MEL, and Aircraft Conformity Documentation
  • Provide access to General Operations Manual, manufacturer maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives for maintenance personnel
  • Issue and review Maintenance Memorandums
  • Act as designee for Operations Specifications per 14 CFR Part 119
  • Review aircraft maintenance schedules for workflow, equipment, facility, tool, supply, and job requirements
  • Authorize purchase of materials and equipment
  • Assist the Part 145 Director of Maintenance with Maintenance Training Department oversight
  • Delegate functions as appropriate
  • Perform other assigned duties
