Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- minimum of 3 years experience managing community events and cultural arts programs
- experience working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- strong organizational and multitasking skills
- ability to lead cross-departmental teams
- valid driver’s license
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
- proficiency with event management software and marketing tools
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, arts management, event management, or related field
- experience managing large-scale community events and cultural arts programming
- proven ability to lead teams and manage complex projects
- experience in budget management and contract negotiation
- strong communication and public speaking skills
- familiarity with grant funding and sponsorship development
- knowledge of public art programs and cultural community engagement
Job Duties
- Plan, direct, and oversee the City’s community events, festivals, and cultural arts programs
- provide technical, permitting and event related assistance
- manage event schedules and supervise event staff
- lead marketing and outreach efforts to promote special events, arts and cultural initiatives
- manage budgets, contracts, and sponsorships while ensuring compliance with City policies
- collaborate across City departments and with regional partners to ensure safe, inclusive, and well-coordinated events and programs
- manage website content related to the Special Events, Arts Commission and Public Art
