Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum of 3 years experience managing community events and cultural arts programs
  • experience working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
  • strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • ability to lead cross-departmental teams
  • valid driver’s license
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • proficiency with event management software and marketing tools

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, arts management, event management, or related field
  • experience managing large-scale community events and cultural arts programming
  • proven ability to lead teams and manage complex projects
  • experience in budget management and contract negotiation
  • strong communication and public speaking skills
  • familiarity with grant funding and sponsorship development
  • knowledge of public art programs and cultural community engagement

Job Duties

  • Plan, direct, and oversee the City’s community events, festivals, and cultural arts programs
  • provide technical, permitting and event related assistance
  • manage event schedules and supervise event staff
  • lead marketing and outreach efforts to promote special events, arts and cultural initiatives
  • manage budgets, contracts, and sponsorships while ensuring compliance with City policies
  • collaborate across City departments and with regional partners to ensure safe, inclusive, and well-coordinated events and programs
  • manage website content related to the Special Events, Arts Commission and Public Art
