Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in park and recreation administration or related field, or combination of education and 5 years of work-related experience
- Must be 18 years or older to apply
- Must have an Arizona driver's license
- Must pass DPS/FBI fingerprint background investigation
- First Aid/CPR certification required
- Food Handler's Card required
- Ability to work an irregular schedule

- Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) preferred

- Knowledge of principles and procedures of organized competitive sports and public recreation
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information to managers and the public
- Ability to maintain budget and communicate effectively
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in program and game rules and procedures
- Understanding of safety equipment and procedures
Job Duties
- Plan, promote, organize, and administer public recreation services for the tribal community
- Supervise, select, train, direct, and evaluate department personnel and monitor all activities and operations
- Supervise acquisition, planning, design, construction, and maintenance of recreation facilities and coordinate with Public Works and Planning Departments
- Evaluate effectiveness of recreation areas, facilities, and services
- Develop immediate and long-range plans to meet recreational needs of tribal community age groups
- Prepare budgets and direct expenditures of department funds and maintain department records
- Report recommendations and provide strategic direction to Tribal Administration and Tribal Council
- Oversee marketing of park programs including website, brochures, and social media
- Develop and manage sponsorship programs for department events and leagues
- Comply with all Cocopah Indian Tribe policies, protocols, and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
