Job Requirements

  • Valid California driver’s license with an excellent driving record
  • No license restrictions other than corrective lenses
  • Applicants must submit current DMV driving record with application or resume
  • Minimum two years of relevant work experience in valet or parking industry
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Effective reading, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to operate various vehicle types in tight parking spaces
  • Basic computer proficiency for administrative tasks
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
  • Professional and courteous demeanor
  • Ability to handle work stress efficiently
  • Demonstrated excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Willingness to work on short notice at various UCSF locations and overtime as needed

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum two years of valet or related parking industry work experience
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
  • Basic computer skills for administrative duties
  • Ability to operate manual, automatic, and electric vehicles efficiently
  • Demonstrated professionalism and excellent customer service skills
  • Experience working under stress while maintaining efficiency
  • Record of exceptional attendance and punctuality
  • Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures
  • Preferred experience in a health or medical center environment
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of license plate recognition enforcement systems

Job Duties

  • Lead and supervise valet attendants, customer service ambassadors, cashiers, and parking enforcement officers
  • Ensure daily operations comply with Transportation Services Operation manual and departmental procedures
  • Act as an ambassador and greeter for Transportation programs and services
  • Oversee the effectiveness and efficiency of parking and transit operations
  • Manage daily job activities within the Parking Representative series
  • Address operational needs and staff scheduling, including overtime as necessary
  • Promote excellent customer service and professionalism among team members
