Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to perform custodial duties including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and trash handling
- physical ability to lift and carry objects weighing 15-30 pounds
- availability to work Friday through Sunday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM totaling 30 hours per week
- ability to operate cleaning and maintenance equipment safely
- capacity to inspect facilities for safety and maintenance issues
- ability to communicate clearly and courteously with the public
- willingness to follow safety protocols including handling hazardous materials
- basic computer proficiency
- reliable attendance and punctuality
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in custodial or facilities maintenance preferred
- basic customer service skills
- ability to operate cleaning equipment
- knowledge of safety procedures related to custodial work
- ability to communicate effectively with the public and coworkers
- capacity to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting
- basic computer skills including use of cash registers and data entry
- ability to follow instructions and handle multiple tasks
- understanding of waste disposal and recycling practices
Job Duties
- Provide custodial duties at public parking garages and grounds such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floor surfaces
- clean, dust, and polish equipment, light fixtures, surfaces, walls, parking kiosks and gates, garage signage furniture, wood paneling, windowsills, trim, doors, cabinets, vents, and other surfaces
- clean, deodorize, and disinfect bathrooms including mirrors, toilets, urinals, sinks and replenish soap and paper products
- empty trash and recycling containers, replace liners, separate recyclable materials, carry and dispose of trash to designated receptacles
- conduct frequent rounds to inspect parking bays, stairwells, elevators to identify and address urgent cleaning needs
- clean and disinfect areas affected by needles and bloodborne pathogens using SHARPS containers and tools
- inspect assigned parking facility for maintenance needs, improper parking, abandoned vehicles, loitering, criminal incidents, or suspicious activity and report observations
- maintain building security by unlocking/locking doors and reporting problems
- assist with repairing parking gates as needed
- assist event operations by coordinating vehicle entrance and exit, accepting payments, making change, giving directions, and responding to customer complaints
- operate equipment including vehicles, vacuum cleaners, mops, brooms, cleaning supplies, alarm systems, ladders, and utilize safety equipment
- monitor inventory levels of equipment and supplies, initiate requests for replacements, stock and distribute supplies
- communicate with supervisor, city employees, public to coordinate work, review status, exchange information, or resolve problems
- process documentation associated with operations such as reports, receipts, cash reports, parking citations
- operate personal computer and cash register to enter, retrieve, modify data
- perform other related duties as required
