The City Parking Division is a crucial component of the municipality's infrastructure, managing and maintaining over 19,000 public parking spaces distributed across various types of facilities including 14 parking garages, 10 surface lots, and more than 500 on-street locations. This division plays an essential role in ensuring accessible, efficient, and sustainable parking solutions that cater to the needs of residents, businesses, and visitors alike. Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Submission of a DMV transcript dated within 30 days upon hire
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm
  • Experience with municipal parking operations
  • Demonstrated management and leadership experience
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, urban planning, business administration, or related field
  • Significant experience in parking management, transportation, or municipal operations
  • Proven leadership skills managing multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience with budget preparation and financial analysis
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage with community stakeholders and represent the city in public forums
  • Knowledge of current parking technologies and urban mobility trends

Job Duties

  • Directs and administers the operation and maintenance of parking facilities by leading and managing the parking administrator, enterprise controller, parking manager, maintenance supervisor, and other key personnel
  • Ensures all aspects of operations, maintenance and administration are operating effectively and efficiently to benefit the parking division and the city
  • Oversees the preparation and monitoring of the annual operating and capital budgets by directing staff in budget preparation, reviewing and analyzing financial statements, making forecasts of future trends, and reviewing rate structures
  • Provides direction and performs special projects by leading and supervising staff, assisting in employee selection, providing counseling, corrective action and monitoring personnel performance
  • Oversees contracts and leases, and directs and supervises the collection and analysis of data used in preparation of reports and recommendations
  • Serves on various boards and commissions representing the city on parking related matters
  • Responds to requests from downtown businesses, residents, entertainment and cultural facilities, and the general public
  • Facilitates marketing and communication efforts to ensure all parties are informed about the city’s parking systems
