Job Requirements
- Be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment
- Equivalent to graduation from high school or have responsible work experience demonstrating ability to perform essential functions
- Have at least one year of work experience involving public contact
- Possess valid registration as a Guard with the State of Hawaii Board of Private Detectives and Guards at time of application
- Submit evidence of State of Hawaii Guard license with application
- Possess a valid driver’s license prior to appointment
- Obtain special police commission prior to completion of probation
- Undergo fingerprint-based criminal record check
- Be able to respond to after-hours emergencies
- Be physically capable of moderate activity including walking, standing, lifting, and carrying
Job Qualifications
- Equivalent to graduation from high school
- One year of work experience involving public contact
- Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred
- Valid registration as a Guard with the State of Hawaii Board of Private Detectives and Guards at time of application
- Possession of a valid driver’s license prior to appointment
- Ability to obtain a special police commission prior to completion of probation
Job Duties
- Patrol and enforce parking regulations in City employee and public parking areas, issue citations, coordinate towing, and ensure proper meter function
- Maintain safety and order by directing traffic, responding to disturbances or emergencies, and acting as a first responder when needed
- Support motor pool operations by assigning vehicles, directing parking, refueling, scheduling maintenance, and delivering City vehicles
- Assist the public and City employees by providing information, guidance, and support on parking, facilities, and City policies
- Document and report incidents through accurate recordkeeping, incident reports, and court testimony when necessary
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed for this position
