Job Description

The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to serve as the Superintendent of Little Beaver State Park, located in Raleigh County, WV. Little Beaver State Park is a state-operated recreational facility spanning over 562 acres and offers a variety of outdoor activities and amenities for families, outdoor enthusiasts, and visitors from the region and beyond. Job Requirements

  • valid driver's license
  • may need to complete Special Natural Resources Police Officer training and pistol qualification
  • may need to pass physical examination, psychological evaluation, and polygraph
  • two years of relevant paid experience including one year supervisory or lead experience
  • bachelor's degree or equivalent substitute experience
  • ability to live on-site
  • comply with uniform policy
  • complete state purchasing procedures

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience working at a park, in natural resources, tourism, travel, or environmental industry
  • one year of that experience in administrative, supervisory, or lead worker capacity
  • proficiency with computer software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, UKG, wvOASIS, and email
  • ability to prepare reports and correspondence
  • skills in public relations and law enforcement

Job Duties

  • manage the operation, maintenance, and protection of Little Beaver State Park
  • oversee campground, picnic areas, lake, trails, and playground facilities
  • ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
  • conduct personnel management and training
  • administer park budgets and concession contracts
  • handle guest relations and resolve complaints
