Job Requirements
- Enrollment in a post-secondary institution relevant to internship duties
- Valid State of Iowa driver's license
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
Job Qualifications
- Enrollment at a post-secondary school in coursework relevant to the duties of the unit to which assigned
- Basic knowledge of concepts related to the internship field
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to apply knowledge gained through formal education to practical work situations
- Proficiency in operating equipment, machinery, computer software, and office equipment as needed
Job Duties
- Perform routine work pertinent to the assigned subject area such as administration, natural resources, environmental education, community outreach, parks advocacy, parks planning, construction and maintenance, equestrian, and leisure services
- Execute specific work assignments based on educational program and unit assignment
- Perform data entry, attend meetings and document findings, develop correspondence, operate office equipment and software in administration
- Engage with venue or event participants, plan and execute events, assist in marketing and communications, provide hospitality support in leisure services
- Assist in varied assignments including technical and professional work, research, and analysis
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with team members
- Perform related duties as assigned
