Our Outdoor Recreation Team is an integral part of the community-focused services, dedicated to providing exceptional outdoor experiences at multiple facilities including Bond Park Boathouse and Cary Action Sports Park. These parks serve as exciting recreational hubs offering activities such as paddleboat, canoe, kayak, and fishing boat rentals at the Boathouse, along with BMX biking, skateboarding, scootering, and roller skating at the Action Sports Park. Job Requirements
- must be at least 18 years of age
- high school diploma or ged equivalent
- cpr first aid certification or ability to obtain within 6 months with training
- valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- ability to move freely and lift up to 30 lbs routinely and 60 lbs occasionally
- ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
- must pass drug testing background check and satisfactory reference checks
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or ged equivalent
- cpr first aid certification or ability to obtain within 6 months with training
- some experience working in a park or community center setting particularly in a staffed facility
- some experience in action sports or boating
- strong interpersonal communication skills
- ability to operate office equipment and software such as RecTrac
- ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- ability to enforce safety protocols and respond calmly to emergency situations
Job Duties
- open and close facilities daily ensuring security and equipment readiness
- unlock clean and prepare rental equipment for use and perform light maintenance of equipment and park areas
- conduct daily safety inspections and ensure cleanliness of all equipment docks ramps and park areas including rental equipment beach dock areas and the course
- provide information on park rules regulations and safety practices and ensure compliance and maintain a safe environment for visitors
- assist customers with rentals ensuring a positive experience and safety
- process payments and registrations through RecTrac software
- perform administrative tasks including reporting to supervisors and handling customer inquiries
- support park operations by assisting with events programs and general maintenance tasks
- complete other job-related tasks as required
