Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- comprehensive knowledge of modern cooking procedures and health and hygiene requirements
- one year of experience as a cook in a commercial or private environment
- excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- excellent human relations and interpersonal skills
- ability to read directions and safety warnings
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- professional bearing and neat personal appearance
- ability to pass a background, criminal history, and credit history check
- flexibility as to hours of work
Job Duties
- Perform in support of the parish’s spiritual and pastoral mission
- abide by Catholic principles in professional and private life
- prepare meals for the Pastor, clergy, and guests
- plan nutritious and balanced meals
- purchase food and household items within budget
- ensure goods purchased are properly accounted for
- adhere to all hygiene requirements
- meet health, sanitation, and safety standards
- maintain a clean kitchen in accordance with health guidelines
- perform other duties as assigned
