Job Requirements

  • Must be high school graduate
  • Valid Type 3 Hawaii State driver's license with clean traffic abstract
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles used for revenue service
  • Pass company-sponsored medical examination and drug screen
  • Ability to apply defensive driving and injury prevention techniques
  • Ability to operate various passenger vehicles professionally
  • Use of two-way radio and communication systems
  • Ability to operate wheelchair lifts and securement belts
  • Must safely assist passengers without posing health or safety threat

Job Qualifications

  • Strong geographic knowledge of Oahu and map reading skills
  • Ability to communicate courteously and professionally with operators, dispatchers, and customers
  • Basic math skills to calculate time, distance, and money
  • Clear communication in English using detailed oral and written instructions
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Experience in operating passenger-carrying vehicles
  • Ability to use two-way radios and mobile data terminal communication systems
  • Knowledge of wheelchair lift operation and securement belts

Job Duties

  • Safely operate all assigned vehicles on public roadway system to deliver ADA eligible customers on a schedule
  • Provide excellent curb-to-curb service with aloha spirit
  • Work independently with integrity and take direction positively
  • Analyze work shift, manifest, and routing to determine effective vehicle usage
  • Coordinate and document customer delivery, transfers, no-shows, cancellations, and delays
  • Provide timely and accurate reports on accidents and incidents
  • Maintain logs, reports, and records related to fare collection, vehicle condition, and scheduled service
  • Perform medium physical work involving loading and unloading passengers, wheelchairs, baggage, and packages
