Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- License or certification as EMT-Paramedic in the state of assignment
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Basic IV therapy proficiency as per state requirements
- FDA approved training completion for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Minimum two years clinical or hospital experience
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting
Job Duties
- Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis
- Evaluate donor reactions and manage adverse events according to SOPs
- Follow SOPs for medical emergencies and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities
- Refer unacceptable findings and medical issues to Center Physician or Medical Affairs
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
- Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation by occupational health or emergency room
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and support investigations related to pandemic threats
