Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Current state licensure or certification as EMT-Paramedic
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Completion of FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training
- Minimum two years experience in clinical or hospital setting
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where duties are assigned as EMT-Paramedic
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
- Successfully complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience
Job Duties
- Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE)
- Evaluate donor reactions and manage them according to standard operating procedures including medical emergencies and donor transport
- Refer medical cases and unacceptable findings to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
- Manage employee incidents and coordinate further evaluations with occupational health or emergency services as needed
- Serve as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations of pandemic threats locally
- Follow BioLife Medical Affairs guidance for environmental, health, and safety compliance at the center level
