Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Three years of ambulance/transport experience as primary clinical attendant
- One year hospital experience preferred
- State license: EMT-P or LP or EMT-P
- Driver license with state licensure
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA) or instructor
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA) or instructor
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification (AHA) or instructor within 3 months
- NVCRISIS (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) certification (CPI) or instructor within 6 months
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to operate ambulance equipment safely
- Valid driver license
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Willingness to travel within and outside Houston Metropolitan area
- Ability to maintain patient privacy and safety
Job Qualifications

- Demonstrated communication skills with patients, physicians, and team
- Knowledge of ambulance equipment and clinical protocols
- Ability to work independently and exercise judgment
- Competent computer skills including electronic health records
Job Duties
- Provides safe transfer of patient and patient care information to receiving personnel
- Collaborates with interprofessional team by communicating patient care information clearly and timely
- Mentors new paramedics and EMT personnel
- Acts as team leader in patient decontamination operations
- Provides direct patient care and documents treatments and procedures
- Conducts patient examinations for signs and symptoms of illness or injury
- Administers basic and advanced life support care during transport
- Documents patient condition and treatment on patient care records
- Conducts ambulance inventory and equipment testing
- Operates ambulance in a safe and efficient manner
- Uses resources efficiently and manages time to minimize overtime
- Maintains orderly environment for access to supplies and equipment
- Develops team members' skills and participates in performance improvement projects
- Attends mandatory meetings and updates individual development plan
