Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of ambulance/transport experience as primary clinical attendant
  • Valid EMT-P or LP state license
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Current BLS certification (AHA)
  • Current ACLS certification (AHA)
  • Current PALS certification (AHA) within 3 months
  • NVCRISIS or Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 6 months
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to operate ambulance safely
  • Ability to perform patient care per protocols
  • Ability to document patient care accurately
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to adapt to multiple priorities
  • Competent computer skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of ambulance/transport experience as primary clinical attendant
  • One year hospital experience preferred
  • State EMT-P or LP license
  • Valid driver’s license
  • BLS certification (AHA)
  • ACLS certification (AHA)
  • PALS certification (AHA) within 3 months
  • NVCRISIS or CPI certification within 6 months
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
  • Proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking
  • Knowledge of ambulance equipment and clinical protocols
  • Competency in computer operations including electronic health records

Job Duties

  • Provide safe and efficient transfer of patient and patient care information to receiving personnel
  • Collaborate with interprofessional team by communicating and reporting pertinent patient care information
  • Interact respectfully with peers, staff, and physicians and serve as a role model and mentor
  • Provide direct patient care under physician direction and document care administered
  • Conduct patient examinations for signs and symptoms of illness or injury
  • Administer advanced and basic life support care during transport per protocols
  • Document all aspects of patient condition and treatment thoroughly
  • Conduct regular ambulance inventory and equipment testing
  • Operate ambulance safely and efficiently in adherence to hospital policies
  • Use resources efficiently and assist with patient and staffing needs
  • Report equipment repairs and maintain orderly environment
  • Participate in skill development, performance improvement, and shared governance
  • Attend mandatory meetings and update individual development plans
