Job Requirements
- Completion of a paramedic training program
- Certification in Basic Life Support, ACLS, and PALS within six months of hire
- Certification in BTLS or PTLS within eighteen months of hire
- EMT-P or licensed paramedic by the Texas Department of State Health Services
- Minimum one year of experience as a paramedic
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to perform duties requiring prolonged standing, walking, stooping, bending, and lifting
- Ability to perform 24/7 on-call duties as required by clinical operations

Job Duties
- Delivers appropriate patient care at a competent level and according to the age/needs of the patient/population served
- Assists Registered Nurse in the treatment of the emergency patients and performs procedures identified on the Skills Inventory
- Assists in the communication and prioritization of patient care
- Obtains subjective and objective data
- Documents on Emergency Center records according to hospital standards
- provides patient/family with discharge information and/or education
- Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors
- adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency
- supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization
- serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff
- Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences
- Models Memorial Hermann’s service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues
- Other duties as assigned
