Job Requirements

  • Completion of a paramedic training program
  • Certification in Basic Life Support, ACLS, and PALS within six months of hire
  • Certification in BTLS or PTLS within eighteen months of hire
  • EMT-P or licensed paramedic by the Texas Department of State Health Services
  • Minimum one year of experience as a paramedic
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform duties requiring prolonged standing, walking, stooping, bending, and lifting
  • Ability to perform 24/7 on-call duties as required by clinical operations

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Delivers appropriate patient care at a competent level and according to the age/needs of the patient/population served
  • Assists Registered Nurse in the treatment of the emergency patients and performs procedures identified on the Skills Inventory
  • Assists in the communication and prioritization of patient care
  • Obtains subjective and objective data
  • Documents on Emergency Center records according to hospital standards
  • provides patient/family with discharge information and/or education
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors
  • adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency
  • supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization
  • serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff
  • Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences
  • Models Memorial Hermann’s service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues
  • Other duties as assigned
