Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED
valid driver's license and safe driving record
North Carolina EMT-Paramedic certification or eligibility
ability to wear respiratory and chemical protective equipment
ability to pass Wake County EMS Physical Ability Test
willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts
ability to attend paid academy and field training
successfully complete criminal background and driving record checks
pass pre-employment drug test

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
certification as a North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic (EMTP) or eligibility for certification
ability to work calmly under stress
excellent communication skills
physical ability to perform rigorous job functions
experience working in a team environment
understanding of Incident Command System
valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
