Job Requirements
- Current Texas Department of State Health Services Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic / Licensed Paramedic
- Ability to obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support instructor certification within 30 days of employment
- Ability to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 6 months of employment
- Ability to obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months of employment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency environment

Job Qualifications
- Paramedic, or (EMT-State) Emergency Medical Technician, or (NRP) Nationally Registered Paramedic
- Paramedic (EMT-P), or Emergency Medical Paramedic (EMP) required - Current Texas Department of State Health Services Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic / Licensed Paramedic
- Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
Job Duties
- Assist with obtaining and documenting vital signs and placement of oxygen saturation, cardiac monitoring, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring systems
- Assist with technical functions such as obtaining 12-lead EKGs, discontinuation of peripheral IV and heparin/saline locks, and maintenance and care of specimens for laboratory analysis
- Assist with patient care and treatments including positioning patients, application of sterile dressings, immobilization of extremities, cast and splint applications
- Complete basic psychomotor skills and activities related to care
- Assist with wound care, insertion of Foley catheters and nasogastric tubes
- Clean and stock carts, rooms, and change linen as required
- Provide written instructions and/or educational materials to patients and family members
