Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Completion of New York State Department of Health approved paramedic program
- Minimum six months ambulance experience as a paramedic
- Valid driver's license
- Weapons of Mass Destruction certificate
- Haz-Mat Awareness certificate
- CEVO or EVOC certificate
- Willingness to devote required time to complete assigned tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively with organizational levels
- Must maintain credentials to work in NYC 911 system

- Preferred six months 911 ALS experience
- Valid driver license

- Ability to effectively communicate with all organizational levels
Job Duties
- Provide ALS assessment of patient condition and treat in accordance with NYS DOH and regional guidelines
- Transport patients to appropriate hospitals and transfer care to hospital staff while communicating patient condition and treatment
- Respect and accommodate coworker and patient cultural backgrounds and assist with interpreter services as needed
- Comply with controlled substance policies and procedures
- Report to work on time in uniform with required personal equipment and swipe in/out per policy
- Minimize and document out-of-service time with appropriate notifications
- Comply with scheduling procedures and availability submissions
- Maintain credentials and ability to work in NYC 911 system
- Participate in department, hospital, and regional quality improvement programs
- Attend department meetings and training sessions
- Work collaboratively with partners and other providers to facilitate high-quality care delivery
- Follow NYU, FDNY, and NYS DOH guidelines for emergency vehicle operations
- Check and maintain vehicle and equipment readiness before shifts
- Complete and submit Electronic Pre-Hospital Call Reports accurately and timely
- Drive ambulance safely in emergency and non-emergency modes throughout shifts
