Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Must be able to provide current negative PPD test results
- Must maintain current industry standards through continuing education
- Must have clean DMV record
- Must demonstrate a compassionate attitude towards customers, their friends, family and coworkers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Must have ability to prioritize decisions and act quickly in the best interest of the patient
- Ability to act independently in constantly changing environments
- Must be capable of adapting to situations involving violence and emotional instability
- Must possess analytical skills and apply them effectively in stressful situations
- Must maintain composure working in stressful situations
- Must have physical capability to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy loads, climbing stairs while carrying weight, and tolerating outdoor environmental conditions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Current Florida Paramedic Card
- Current Florida driver license
- Certification in AHA CPR (Instructor-based with AED)
- Certification in AHA PALS
- Certification in AHA ACLS
- Certification in ITLS or PHTLS
- Certification in ICS100.b, ICS200.b, ICS700 and ICS800
- Excellent clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments
- Strong communication skills in English
- Capability to maintain composure in stressful and multicultural environments
- Experience in emergency medical services preferred
Job Duties
- Respond to BLS and ALS emergent and non-emergent transports and scene calls
- Provide high quality, routine and emergent basic and advanced life support
- Provide comprehensive assessments of ill and/or injured patients, invasive airway management, cardiac monitoring and administration of medications on scene and/or in route to hospital or receiving facility
- Perform a complete assessment on every scene or transport patient, including determining patient appropriateness to move, safest movement method and most appropriate destination
- Professional liaison with members of other agencies and facilities such as police, fire, hospitals, senior living facilities and other ambulance services
- Interact professionally with members of the public and/or family members at scene or in the community
- Clean, decontaminate and check vehicles and equipment to maintain operational readiness
- Thoroughly document all patient history, condition, assessments, interventions and patient responses on the patient care record
- Responsible for other related duties deemed necessary to meet the needs of the Company
