Job Requirements

  • less than 1 year experience
  • 1 to 3 years experience
  • associate degree in paramedic studies
  • certified EMT-paramedic
  • texas state paramedic certification
  • basic life support certification
  • advanced cardiac life support certification
  • pediatric advanced life support certification

Job Qualifications

  • associates degree from an accredited school for paramedics
  • technical training as EMT-paramedic with paramedic certification
  • texas department of state health services emergency medical technician-paramedic certification required upon hire
  • basic life support (BLS) required upon hire
  • advanced life support/advanced cardiac life support (ALS/ACLS) required within 6 months
  • pediatric advanced life support (PALS) required within 6 months
  • one year field experience or clinical setting experience preferred

Job Duties

  • collect and convey patient health information to team members and physicians
  • perform duties under the license of the Physician Medical Director
  • collaborate with registered nurses in patient care
  • maintain patient safety
  • attend departmental meetings and in-services
  • contribute to the growth and development of self and department
  • maintain competence with charting system
